About Us

Why We're Here

There's a version of Nepal that exists in news articles and tourism brochures, and then there's the version we live in. It's in the crackle of a wood fire warming a tea shop, the scent of incense drifting from an old temple, or the low chatter floating through the crowded corners of Durbar Square.

Beneath the Blueprint exists to explore this subtle, richer version of Nepal. It's shaped by small choices and quiet rituals, by the textures of places and moments that don't shout but quietly speak to those who notice.

Our mission is to build a space that documents the layered, often-overlooked aspects of Nepali life through architecture, culture, stories, and slow observation. We're not here to simplify or romanticize. We're here to hold complexity, and maybe even celebrate it.

What We Do

We collect and share stories that capture the essence of "नेपालीपन" — the spirit of Nepali life. Stories that are both personal and observational. Sometimes it's a memory, a fleeting moment, or a family tradition. Other times it's the things you see while traveling, walking around your city, or learning something new.

It might be about the food you grew up eating, the crops thriving in your village fields, a temple you pass every day without thought, or the smell of your grandmother's shawl on a cold winter morning. If it's real and tied to a place and memory, it belongs here.

We publish articles, essays, travel logs, reflections, and sometimes just simple photo stories. You don't need to be a professional writer; you just need a story you care about.

This space belongs to everyone: students, travelers, artists, keepers, neighbors, friends. If you're curious about where you come from, where you're going, or what connects us all, you'll find something here.

So, grab a cup of tea and settle in. There's a lot beneath the blueprint.
